Reach In Any Direction for Inspiration

There's no shortage of inspiration,
because it's in life, God, Google
or people. Reach in one or all of
the mentioned places to be inspired.
Inspiration is sitting there, waiting
for a chance to show-off in a
writer's project.

"Which direction should I reach into?"
You asked out-loud.

The direction is up to you. Let's
narrow down a possible category.
What's comfortable for you? Life?

Life offers a boundless feast of
inspiration. Take inventory of
your life. Or, take a close look
at any life.

Is there a disability you'd like
to write about? Bring insight to
a condition? Did something happen
that is begging to be written
about? A crisis in a friend's
life would benefit others if shared.
You know of a better way to handle
stress? Many would benefit.

What stood-out on Monday, Wednesday
or Saturday?

You received an award. A step-by-step
guide to tell others how to get the
award is write-worthy.

A mystery showed itself. People have
wondered about a certain mystery for
years, even you. One day, you were
trying to piece it together and the
solution dawned. Write a whodunit.
The list can go on.

Peel away any moment in life to
spin-out fiction, non-fiction or
poems.

The next category is God. Writers
take information, small or big, to
carve a word picture.

"In the beginning God created the
heavens and the earth." Genesis 1:1,
"New World Translation of the Holy
Scriptures."

I took a passage from the bible at
random.

Some people have a different view-
point, and believe in evolution.
The theory, with evolution, is that
all species evolved, developed,
from earlier forms.

An essay to address it, your belief,
is a possible writing project.

A second writing idea: Create a
world that displays a third view-
point on the development of man,
plants, the moon.

The third writing idea spot-lights
dinosaurs, extinct prehistoric
reptiles. Why are they extinct?
Smaller versions alive today?

Pin-point other aspects of God
to write about. Your own
experiences as it relates to God?

A direction to look into as
inspiration is Google. Google
as a spring-board to inspiration
involves many features to pick
from.

Google's features is a place to
start, G-mail is but one. The
name, corporation or business
mission are directions to explore.

Would you like to imitate Google?
A goal based on Google's mission
in a specific area? The choice
is up to you, the writer.

Last, people near and far, are
full of inspiration. People bouncing
about everyday, in a different culture,
can set a writer's creative flow
into action.

Have you talked with someone, listened,
and writing ideas zoomed to mind. A
person's mannerisms is fictional
character friendly. A problem re-told
five times pushed you to do research
and write about it?

Inspiration is found near and far, in
any direction. Look for inspiration in
life, God, Google or people.

Re-Cap Search Feature On Twitter

Twitter's search engine is stuffed
full of knowledge about anything,
everything, pertaining to what's
going on now. Let's say a friend
mentioned today that Marcella Glenn
entered school B in a contest. Only,
it was several days ago.

Twitter, as it stands, has no way to
re-cap the link to the elementary school,
or find out anything about the contest.

On Wednesday, Google introduced a re-cap,
replay, search feature that will allow a
search for tweets- in a given time period.

"Tweets and other short form updates create
a history of commentary that can provide
valuable insights into what's happened and
how people have reacted." Dylan Casey,
product manager for Google real-time search,
scribbled in a blog post. "We want to give
you a way to search across this information
and make it useful."

Let's look at how it works. After you do a
Google search, click on the Show Options link.
Recent tweets will show-case pertaining to
your search.

A chart appears at the top of your results.
The chart allows you to search by hour, day,
month. Now, the friend can search for which
school Marcella Glenn entered into the contest,
and use the link:

The service is available back to February 11,
2010, but the archive will soon allow users
to search results back to March 21, 2006. The
first tweet was created March 21, 2006.

Google's Buzz was sent-forth to
combine with the search engine's
e-mail service.

"I've heard about Buzz, but not
sure what it is." Several people
said.

Google's Buzz is a social media
sharing service. It shares photos,
videos, updates, and links from
Gmail. Buzz works with mobile
browsers too.

Buzz is easy to use, and fast.
Google, overall, protects user
data.

"How do I start Buzz?" You asked.

1. Log into your Gmail account.

2. Below the in-box, the Buzz
folder sits.

3. Click on it.

4. Follow the prompts.

Buzz is capable of connecting,
pulling, feeds from Twitter,
YouTube, Blogger, Flickr, Google
Reader, and Picasa Web.

You can share Blogger, Twitter, and
YouTube through the Buzz stream. Let's
look at how it works.

A friend has accounts at the above
mentioned sites, for example. There's
no need for you to subscribe to them,
visit, or click on links. Simply, log
into Gmail. Allow the Buzz stream to do
the work.

The Buzz tab is under the in-box tab.

There's an auto-follow feature on Buzz.
The goal is for an easy start-up. It
allows frequent e-mail and chat clients,
contacts, to follow you without tapping,
clicking, on anything.

However, clients, contacts, were shown
to the public before they filled out
Buzz profiles.

Some people were irate, others confused.
Still, there are people, for one reason
or another, that just rather not have
the Buzz feature.

It's understandable that people dislike
their information open to the public,
especially when they're out of the "loop".

"We've heard your feedback loud and clear,
and since we launched Google Buzz, we've
been working to address the concerns
you've raised," explained Todd Jackson,
Gmail and Google Buzz product manager.

There is a way to rid yourself of Buzz.

The bottom of Gmail has the words:
"turn off Buzz".

It removes active links, but leaves
your profile open to the public.

Free yourself of Buzz with the below
steps.

1. Find your name, profile.

2. In the public time-line, delete
every Buzz.

3. Remove all the followers too.

AT&T Called Google A Violater

AT&T wrote a letter, to the Federal
Communications Commission, explaining
that Google violated the fair
competition principle.

AT&T and other phone companies aren't
allowed to block any numbers. It's
known as the common carrier laws.

AT&T alleged Google's call blocking
is in direct violation.

According to Google, the principle
don't apply. They offer a software
application that's helped by other
companies, and it's free.

The Federal Communications Commission
doesn't have any say, jurisdiction,
over software applications.

AT&T and others have been in opposition
to Google. It's rumored that's why
Google Voice application for Apple
iPhone was turned-down.

Google wants an open Internet, and
more free bandwidth to broadcast TV
channels.

AT&T and other phone companies feel
differently.

Google and AT&T, both, have supporters,
lobbyists.

The Federal Communications Commission
hasn't given its opinion on the latest
issue, and there's no indication when
it will.
